OPENING TO-MORROW

Wellington Easter Show Public interest in the Easter Show and Industrial Exhibition promoted by tlie Wellington Show Association has been well maintained in the past, and this year, if the elaborate arrangements made by the executive of the association are any criterion, should be no exception. The show will be officially opened to-morrow by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, and the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop. This year patrons will notice a decided improvement in the lay-out of several courts, many novel features having been introduced. Courts, erected and designed by the Show Association, will be provided for exhibitors, who will only have to arrange their exhibits instead of building their own courts as formerly. There will be a British court, 80 feet by 40 feet, specially designed for the display of British goods. A separate British motor court has also been provided. In this space, which is 130 feet by 50 feet, only motor-cars manufactured in Great Britain will be shown. For Australian manufactured articles a special court, 50 feet by 40 feet, will enable the exhibitors to display them in an attractive manner. Although work is still being carried out in the spacious show building, a general idea of the attractive lay-out-can be obtained. The tearooms on the second floor occupy a position whereby patrons will have a full view of the animated scene on the ground floor. Near the tearooms will be one of the novelties of the show, a rock garden, which is being prepared by tlie New Zealand Alpine and Rock Garden Socity, Inc. This exhibit promises to be one of the most effective in the building. Although visitors to the show will find much to interest them in the manufacturers’ exhibits, they will find diversity in the indoor entertainments. These will include acrobatic and balancing acts, gymnastic displays, tug-of-war, the inter-house girls’ competition, and dancing. The side-shows will be ns numerous and varied as they have been in the past.
