THEY WERE WORTH IT

Mr. G. B. Shaw’s Enthusiasm for Waitomo Caves By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, March 21. “When a man like myself sees sights such as the Waitomo Caves, that is sufficient to blot out all memories of more usual scenery,” said Mr. George Bernard Shaw in an interview with tlie “Waikato ’rimes” by telephone from the Caves Hostel this morning. "New Zealand possesses a wonderful scenic attraction in these caves.” lie said. "I am amazed lo hear that many New Zealanders, especially those living so close to tlie caves, have never seen lhein. Tell them that they ought to be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. I have come 14.000 miles to see them, and think they are worth it. If that’s good enough for me. it ought to be more than good enough for New Zealanders.”
