There was a large attendance yesterday when Messrs. Harcourt and Co. submitted to auction, acting under instructions from tlie Registrar of the Supreme Court selling in pursuance of a writ, issued under the Rating Act. 1925, a freehold property comprising Lots 1. 2, and 3 D.P. 9562. at the corner of Wakefield Street and Parish Street. The property has a frontage to the latter Street of 101 ft. and a fronta,.ge to Wakefield Street of oOft. and to a splayed corner of 9ft. by a depth of 34ft., and an area of 12.12 perches. The upset price under the writ was £lB5O. The bidding commenced at £2600, and after keen bidding of £lOO rises rose to £3500, at which price the property was knocked down to Mr. A. G. .Torgensen, as agent.
