TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Tuesday, March 20, 1934, 4 p.m. A very intense anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand, with its centre near Chatham Islands. Winds north-easterly to northerly, still strong in the far north; otherwise light to moderate, but later freshening in and south of Cook Strait. Seas rough north of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Fresh to strong north-east winds in eastern Tasman Sea, and rather rough seas in the northern portion; moderate north to northwest winds and moderate seas in the southern portion. Weather fine in most districts, and becoming warmer; some scattered misty rain, however, in the far north, and mist or fog on parts of the cast coast.
