Radio Programmes
Sir.—-It is satisfactory to know that “Brighter Mornings” and “Brighter Evenings,” who doubtless represent a very large number of listeners, are so pleased to have “brighter programmes” from 2YA and 2YC. Perhaps I may be allowed to speak for another section of "listeners”—those who enjoy more serious and classical music—they, too, must feel grateful for the very • excellent programmes which 2YC often gives, especially between 8 and 10 p.m. So all tastes are catered for, and that is as it should be. These programmes would be even more enjoyable if 2YC's method of announcing were altered ; and if before each performance the name of the item, the performer or performers, orchestra, etc., were given instead of the present procedure which really does detract from the pleasure of listening to the fine music. 2YA’s announcing is in this respect perfect, and their programme is printed in the daily papers as well. Why should there be this difference? —I am, etc.. LISTENER. Wellington, March 16.
