The engagement is announced of Nola, youngest daughter of Mrs. C. C. Butter's, Tokomaru, to Alfred Henry, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Meads, Gladstone Road, Levin. A happy party was held recently at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. S. Pearson, Brooklyn, to celebrate the coming of age of their daughter Rebekah. A numberof friends assembled at the birthday tea, and the two-tier birthday cake was cut amidst good wishes and singing. In the evening a number of young people arrived, and a very happy time was spent.
