MILITARY TRAINING

Barracks at Silverstream Students at St. Patrick’s College, Silverstream, began a week’s military training yesterday under Major E. T. Rollings, staff officer in charge of the area. Captain F. Reeves is the officer in charge of the cadets. The training includes infantry work and instruction in musketry and machine gunnery, and a riding school with 14 horses has been instituted. Provision has also been made for signalling and field telephoning. 1 This year a drum and trumpet band has been formed with 12 members. Although not yet at it's best, the band is finding wide popularity among the cadets. The barracks will continue until Friday. when military sports and a sham light will probably be held.
