British Altitude Record FIFTY MILES COVERED IN 150 MINUTES By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright (Received March 19. 7 p.m.) London, March 18. Philip Wills, a member of the London Gliding Club, taking off from a slope of 200 feet at Dunstable Downs at 1.15 p.m., landed at 3.45 p.m. at Lachingdon. 50 miles away. He reached a height of 4600 feet, a British record. He struck two hailstorms, using their upward current. He also glided 2000 feet above two Moth machines.
