Trade Ambassadors Leave TO VISIT CHINA, JAPAN AND EAST INDIES By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received March 18, 7.30 p.m.) Melbourne, March 17. The Australian Eastern trade mission, beaded by the Deputy-Prime Minister, Mr. J. G. Latham, sailed to-day aboard the Nieuw Zeeland for the Dutch East Indies, China, and Japan. Prior to their departure Mr. Latham, in a statement, said: I am going on a diplomatic errand on behalf of the Commonwealth, the benefits of which may not accrue to Australia for at least a generation. The importance of tlie task cannot be overestimated, but my work is made easier by the assurances of cordial welcome received from the- Governments of China and Japan. Mr. Latham and his wife will be the guests of the Government during their stay in Java.
