LADY FORESTERS
Northland Court Opened In St. Anne’s Hall, Northland, recently there took place the official opening of the Ladies’ Foresters’ Court inaugurated by the Court Lady Glasgow, A.O.F. District court officers and members of Court Loyal Northland, the male court, attended to pay a tribute to the sister enterprise. The meeting was presided over by the ■Worthy Chief Ranger, Sister E. Purdie, who in the opening address expressed the hope that the ladies of Northland and Karori would assist the court in its endeavours to bring medical and other benefits within reach of all. The District Chief Ranger, Bro. I<. S. Hoy, said the event was another milestone in the history of Court Lady Glasgow, whose past and present efforts had been rewarded with such complete success. Past District Chief Ranger Bro. F, W. "Ward said the enthusiasm of the large number present that evening presaged a complete success, especially as a candidate was to be initiated during the evening. Following the official opening, the initiation ceremony was conducted . by Sister Purdie, assisted by P.C.R. Sister Lawton, the candidate, Sister Willis, being admitted to the rights and privileges of a Forester. Angements were made for an annive:. -y -ocial to be held next month. P.C.lt. Sister Lawton on behalf of the court presented P.C.R. Sister Tansey with an illustrated P.C.R.’s certificate for the service she had rendered to. the court during her term of office. Sister Tansey returned thanks for the gift. The meeting closed with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
