ROBBERY IN CHURCH
Two Chalices Missing By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland. March 15. On Wednesday night the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumpti<’i. at Onehnnga, was broken into and two sacred vessels valued at £3O were stolen. It was found that the back door of the church had been forced open, and further investigation disclosed that the lock of an inner door lending to the sacristy bad been forced. There were live chalice.- in the room, throe of silver and two gilded. The Iwo latter are missing. Ihe thief obviously having mistaken them for solid gold.
