YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Sunshine and Wind in City In Wellington yesterday, the weather was mild and mostly sunny, but a strong northerly wind blew throughout the day. The wind was strongest between 1 and 2.30 p.m., the highest gust being one of 60 miles an hour. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 60.3 degrees, and the maximum for the day, 62.5 degrees. Cool weather with an overcast sky prevailed at Palmerston North yesterday. '[’here was a wind from the south-west. Yesterday was cloudy in Wanganui, but temperatures were much warmer. There was a light, south-westerly breeze. There was beautifully tine sunnyweather at Auckland, temperatures remaining cool. 'l'lie wind was verylight from the south. The barometer remained unusually high, registering 30.55iu. at mid-day, but was falling in the evening. The weather was fine anu mild at. Christchurch, with sunshine and clouds. The maximum temperature was 73 degrees. The wind was moderate from the north-east. The barometer fell slightly, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.16im The weather was dull and overcast at Dunedin following light rain during the early morning. A light south-west breeze was blowing, and the maximum temperature was 58 degrees.
