Charges of Breaking and Entering and Theft COMMITTED FOR TRIAL Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, March 15. Two charges of theft and eight charges of breaking and entering and theft were admitted by Stanley Leonard Hands, labourer, when he appeared in the Police Court this’morning before justices of . {he peace. On the theft charges accused was convicted and discharged, and on the breaking and entering charges he was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Accused was charged with the theft of a tarpaulin valued at £2 ; the theft of a quantity of net valued at £4.; the breaking and entering of the Dominion Auctioneering Company warehouse and stealing a radio and short-wave converter valued at £39; the breaking and entering ot the New Zealand Express Co.’s warehouse and stealing three cases of wine and a box of soap valued at £8;-the breaking and entering of Tiki Bacon Co.’S premises and'stealing two hams and two sides ot bacon valued at £4/11/-; the breaking and entering of the storehouse of Massey Agricultural College Dairy Research Institute and stealing 401 b. of cheese valued at £1; the breaking and entering of the same storehouse and stealing 601 b. of cheese valued at £l/10/-; the breaking and entering of the Elliford Distributing Co.’s premises and stealing a side ot bacon, two hams and two dozen bottles of stout, of a total value of £3/15/-; the breaking and entering of Abraham and Williams’s warehouse and stealing a chest of tea valued at £B/8/-; the breaking and entering of Joseph Nathan and Co.’s premises, and stealing three boxes of butter," two boxes of margarine, a side and roll of bacon, six bottles of .health salts..and two dozen writing pads’, valued at £ll/1/5. ' ‘ MANAWATU RUGBY St. Patrick’s Club Meets Palmerston North, March 15. Speaking 'lit the annual meeting of the St. Patrick’s Football Club last night, the Rev. Father J. Herlihy said that Che past season was the most important in the club’s history, for it marked the entry of the club into senior football.' He said that the step had been more than justified, for the team had gained considerable success, and by good sportsmanship had won a large measure of popularity with players and supporters. Five senior players had gained representative honours. The balance-sheet showed a credit or £l6/6/10, compared with £l2/8/2 last year. , The following officers were elected Patron, the Very Rev. LEAN YEAR EXPERIENCED I Feilding Club’s Report Feilding, March 15. The annual report of the Feilding Football Club states that the club experienced 'one of its leanest years last year. I rom. Saturday to Saturday the senior team had battled on, not knowing who the next set of players would be, while the junior team had dropped out of the competition after playing only a few matches. , . The finances of the club are in a healthy, position, states the report. Playing at Palmerston North yesterday afternoon, the Woodville Lawn Tennis Club defeated the Manawatu club by 10 sets to 6. ' SCHOOL v. EX-PUPILS Wanganui. March 15. On Wednesday a party of Wanganui ex-pupils of Nga Tawa School, Marton, visited the school to play the annual tennis match. 'Jibe result was a win for Nga Tawa.
