Basil Baughart, a member of the Touhy gang, whose testimony was largely responsible for the conviction of Roger Touhy for the Factor kidnapping, was himself convicted on the same charge to-day and sentenced to 99 years' imprisonment. Charles "Ice Wagon” Connors, another member of the gang, and for a long time a fugitive from justice on a charge of aiding in the Factor kidnapping. was murdered to-day by fellowbecause he refused to contribute his share of the recent bank robbery loot to a legal defence fund to fight the kidnapping cases against Touhy. Banghart, and others. ANOTHER BANK ROBBED Machine-gun Bandits (Received March 14. 5.5 p.m.) New York, March 12. A message from Mason City (Iowa) states that seven machine-gun bandits raided a bank and stole 52,000 dollars. They used the customary device of taking a hostage to cover their escape.
