ATLANTIC CROSSED
Italian Plane Crashes on Beach NO SERIOUS INJURIES Fortaleza, January 29. The Italian trans-Atlantic airmail aeroplane crashed op the beaeli 12 miles south of here early on Monday, and was found bj’ a Pan-American Airways aeroplane. The Pan-American aeroplane, which' was carrying passengers, was unable to land, but circled over the wrecked machine, and the pilot reported sighting three men. Later the four Italian flyers were brought to Fortaleza by a rescue party. The mechanic and radioman were slightly injured. FORCED LANDING Record Flight Attempt (Received January 30, 7.15 p.m.). Paris, January 30. The airwoman, Maryse Helsz, who left Marseilles to attempt a record flight to Tokio, made a forced landing at. Arsuz, Syria. She hopes to resume when the machine is repaired.
