A much-prized scholarship in music to be held at Worcester College, Oxford, has been won by Denis Mason Mulgan, aged .18, eldest son of Mr. Geoffrey Mulgan, formerly of Auckland and Christchurch, and now living in London. The chief subjects for examination were organ playing, choir training, harmonising of chorales, and a general knowledge of music. Denis Mulgan was educated at Charterhouse, taking a good place in the classical side, but left last year to study modern languages at the London University. He has attended the Royal College of Music, playing several instruments and conducting orchestras. Mrs. Geoffrey Mulgan (nee Doris Mclntyre), a daughter of Mr. George Mclntyre, of Sandilands.
