Denis Mulgan was educated at Charterhouse, taking a good place in the classical side, but left last year to study modern languages at the London University. He has attended the Royal College of Music, playing several instruments and conducting orchestras. Mrs. Geoffrey Mulgan (nee Doris Mclntyre), a daughter of Mr. George Mclntyre, of Sandilands.
