Toll of the Air

Sir,—May I, as an Old Boy of Christ’s College, Christchurch, ask you to rectify an error in your issue of December 15, with reference to a statement regarding the “Toll of the Air,” made by the headmaster at the prize-giving. Your report reads: “It would be a good thing for this school if it turned out boys whose only motto was ’safety first. What Mr. Richards actually said was: “During the last three years this school has been hard hit by the number of young Old Boys lost in accidents in the Royal Air Force. ... It would be a sad thing for this school if we turned out boys whose only motto was ‘safety first.’ ” —I am ’ etC 'MAURICE E. DENNISTON.
