Concert in Trades Hall

A highly succesful concert was given by the pupils of the Mount Cook School in the Trades Hall on Thursady evening. The hall was crowded to capacity, and the applause indicated the ‘enthusiastic appreciation of the parents and residents of the district. Mr. R. Simpson, the chairman, thanked the pupils and staff, anil also Mj?s Russell, accompanist, for the splendid entertainment given. lie made special reference to Dlr. E. Rishworth, on whom the main work of organising the esneert had devolved, and whose school choir ot 50 voices was perhaps the feature of the ■evening. The programme was as follows :— Songs—(a) "The Cloud,” (b) All Through the Night,” School Choir; singing game, “In Fairyland,” infants; dance. Joy Viirdcv ; song and drill, “Rng Dolls, .P.'lll and Std. V; violin solo, Miss R. Reid; seen,a, "Radio Children,” B.IV; dance, Susie Breinuer; play, Std. II; songs—(a) “Jerusalem,” (b) “The Jliller” (Solo: B. Green), School choir; drill, Std. IV; singing game, Std. I; play, Std. VI girls; songs—(a) Jbe Moon is Up,” (b) "The Corn Song, School choir; dance, “Pied Piper,’ Alma Longiiurst; action song, Std. Il; play, .Std. HI; song, Miss Freeman; item, Std. VI boys: recitation, “The Schoolmistress,” Margaret Grigg; songs—(a) "Cargoes,’ th) "The Ash Grove,” School choir; wand drill, Std. VI girls; dialogue, "Topsy,” Std. Ill; tap ballet, Miss Hazel Martin's party.
