ADVICE TO PUPILS
Preparing for Life’s Road Palmerston North. December 14. The physical culture and swimming certificates and prizes were presented to. the winners at the Palmerston North Girls’ High School this morning by the mayoress. Mrs. A. E. Mansford. “There is little doubt that the rond to success, is going to be harder for some years, but this should bring out the best in our young people,” said Mrs. Mansford. “To those remaining at school, I say do not look upon your schooling as being irksome. Always remember that your school days are the best. “Many of vou are no doubt leaving school this year and will be called upon to face some of life’s problems. If you are then in doubt, think of your school; you will find a ready solution and one that will be a pleasure to you and re-, fleet credit on your school and your teachers.” ... In her annual report the pnneipa., Mrs. M. Rhodes, states that the roll for the year was 262 pupils, the highest roll last year being 269 pupils. This year’s figure was made up of 177 pupils who returned to the school and 85 new pupils. Of the 61 students who sat fertile intermediate examinations, 53 secured passes. Sixteen pupils passed the matriculation examination, 18 obtained higher leaving certificates, five passed the training college entrance examination, and two pupils obtained partial passes in this latter examination.
