GIRLS OUT OF WORK

'Provision of Meals Th ewomen’s unemployment committee, which operates in the same building a$ the Smith Family in Wakefield Street, is doing notably good .work for girls and women who are out of work and in need, and also ,for those who are only 'partially employed or very poorly paid. The committee is now . providing two good meals a. day> to all unemployed girls, and to those, who are earning 12/6 per week or under. So far about 40 girls, have been putting in .an appearance for these meals. More are wanted. The meals are served from noon to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 5.30 p.m. ■ In addition to these meals provision is being made to provide such girls with a real good Christmas dinner at mid-day, high tea at 5 p.m., and a concert in the evening on Saturday, December 23. ; -
