The Junior Dominion

Dear Boys and Girls, — Poor Inkling is feeling so discouraged about his flight, or, rather, his flight that was not, that he says the Sharpener Plane is not to be used until Christmas, for punishment. . It has to be used then, for on Christmas Eve Inkling flies up to see Father Christmas and tell him about those last-minute wants that you all think of on the day before. Christmas. Our elf escorts Santa Claus a little way on his journey, but the Sharpener Plane', although it is quite fast qannot keep up with the swift, strong reindeer that pull Sant cPs sleigh through the sky and .down to the earth children on Christmas morning. Perhaps all of you are not able to find enough ■ bright pictures to fill your scrap books. But everyone is sure to havegay scraps of silk and cretonne. With these, a penn’orth of peanuts, some black darning wool and pen and ink, you can make the most fascinating peanut men. Just join the peanuts -- together, a long one for the face, two for the body, tzvo for the legs and arms, zvith little bunchy ones for feet and hands. A' plaited pigtail of black wool is fastened to the head, a funny face marked on, or painted; a loose tunic slipped on and coolie trousers make John Chinaman “velly” smart. If you. want tip make him funnier than ever, sew a length of springy elastic just underneath “John’s” round hat. These cheerful fellows will delight any child zvho has one, and will make our “Junior Dominion” Christmas parcel more exciting than ever. A Ship Page next week, and I think zve could manage to squeeze a few seaplanes and things on it, too. I do want a story about pirates and hidden, treasure. Perhaps Inkling has some for me. I wander. Good-bye until our Ship Page, next week, League members, all. Ever so much love, from KIWI.
