HARMONIC SOCIETY

This Evening’s Choir Concert

As a fitting opening for the indoor carnival functions- this evening the Wellington Harmonic Society, under the conductorship of Mr. 11. Temple White, will give one of its- popular programmes in the Town Hall Concert Chamber.

This choir, of about 50 voices, has earned a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its work, and the programme to be presented this evening is an especially interesting one. Numbers to suit all tastes are included, and, as usual, several new, to Wellington will be introduced.

The assisting artists will be Mrs. Bertha Fettes (contralto), winner of the ladies’ vocal scholarship and championship at the 1933 Wellington Competitions; Miss Veronica Bell (soprano-), a recent arrival from Nelson; Mrs. W. J. Coventry and Mr. R. R. Orr in duets, and a male quartet from the ranks of the society. Popular prices are being charged, and the plan is at the D.I.C. till noon to-day.
