South Australia, the Victorian second innings score reached 431 for live wickets, when it was declared closed—Ponsford 122, Rigg 123, Darling 48, Barnett 65 not out. South Australia in the second innings made 231 (Nitschke 11, V. Richardson 102.) Victoria won by 169 runs. Ponsford and Rigg, in making 240 runs before being separated, established a new first-wicket partnership for Victoria-South Australia matches. WIN FOR NEW SOUTH WALES O’Reilly’s Great Bowling Feat (Received November 7, 10 p.m.). Brisbane, November 7. In the Shield match between Queensland and New South Wales, the latter, in the first innings, made 494 for the loss of four wickets, and then declared. Yeates took two wickets for 155. Oxenliani one for 81. Queensland, in the second innings, made 140 (C. Andrews 31. Ix>vy 37). O’Reilly took seven for 53 and Mair three for 30. New South Wales won by an innings and 171 runs. The wicket was dry after yesterday’s rain, but the outfield was damp. O’Reilly at one stage to-day had four wickets for eight.
