Onehunga Woman’s Will HOUSE FOR A MANSE Dominion Special Service. Auckland, November 7. Under the will of the late Miss Emily Ball, Onehunga, whose death occurred on Sunday at the age of 93 years, several bequests are made to religious and charitable institutions. In addition to making financial legacies totalling £lBOO, Miss Ball directed that her home at Queen Street, Onehunga, ‘should become the property of the Congregational Union of New Zealand. The residence, which is a wooden building of about five rooms, will in future be used as a’manse for the Congregational minister at Ouebunga. Details of the financial bequests are as follow:—Dr. Barnardo’s Homes for Destitute Children, £500; British and Foreign Bible Society, £300; Congregational Union of New Zealand, Salvation Army, and New Zealand Institute for the Blind. Parnell. £2OO each: Onehunga Congregational Church and Onehunga Benevolent Society, £lOO each. The sum of £2OO has also been set aside for the benefit of Missions to Lepers. Miss Ball had been a resident of Onehunga for 53 years, and was well known and much beloved. She was born in Lincolnshire and came to New Zealand with her father in the ship Matoaka in 1859. After living at Mangonui for a number of years, Miss Ball and her father went to Onehunga in 18-81.
