EXEMPTION GRANTED
Butchers’ Industrial Award COURT’S DECISION Partial exemption from the provisions of the Wellington Industrial District Butchers’ Award, dated July 17, has been granted to L. H. Cornwell, Ltd., Wanganui, and the Pending Bacon Company (Ltd.), by the Court of Arbitration. In granting exemption, Mr. Justice Frazer specified the following conditions: — 4 • 1. The said companies shall pay to the workers employed permanently or casually in their small goods factories in the manufacture of butchers’ small goods the rates prescribed for such workers in the said industrial agreement. 2. In the case of bacon factory workers temporarily transferred to the small goods factories for the purpose of assisting in the manufacture of butchers’ small goods the said rates shall be payable only for such time as they are actually so employed. 3. The provisions of the said industrial agreement as to preference shall apply to the said workers except those mentioned in clause 2 hereof. 4. In all other respects the provisions of The Wellington Industrial District . Bacon Factory Employees’ Award shall apply to all workers employed in the manufacture of butchers’ 1 small • goods.
