HUNDREDS HOMELESS

West Jamaica Hurricane (British Official Wireless.) . • •. Rugby, November 2. The Governor of Jamaica reports that a serious hurricane struck the west of Jamaica during October 28 and 29. Reports are meagre, but there is no doubt that hundreds have been rendered homeless and ten deaths are reported. The bimana crops in St. James have been completely wiped out, and are at least 90 per cent, down in other western parishes. Food crops are badly damaged. There is extensive damage to roads, bridges, telegraphs and railways. The rest of the island was less affected by.wind, but suffered from heavy rain.
