Mr. J. C. Riddell and Mr. N. E. Drayton. chairman and secretary respectively of the Mount Tokatca Company. We ; lington. left on the Limited express last night for Coromandel, the scene of the company’s operations, for the purpose of meeting and conducting over the company's properties a mining engineer now visiting the Dominion from Australia. Dr. W. F. Short, who was lecturer in organic chemistry at Auckland University College for several years until last year, has recently been appointed to the Organic Chemistry department of the Manchester Municipal College of Technology. Dr. Short will be a lecturer both <:*f the college and of Victoria University, Manchester, the college being the Faculty of Technology of the university.
