BOY AND GIRL LABOUR
Discussion by Trades Council
Reports alleging the exploitation of boy and girl labour were received at the fortnightly meeting last week of the Trades and .Labour Council, at which Mr. J. Tucker presided. A special committee was set up to make investigations into the cases with a view.of placing the matter before the Government. In view of the decision of the Court of Arbitration with regard to apprenticeship orders, the council decided that the position be placed before the Minister of Labour, and arrangements have been made in that direction. The council decided to support firms and businesses who accord fair treatment to their emploj’ees.
