Is War Inevitable?

Sir, —One of your correspondents venturing to discuss “Is war inevitable?” has the temerity to enlist religion to assist him in his espousal of the cause of Mars. We are professedly a “Christian” people. and may take it that religion means Christian religion. If any individual of the thousands that habitually repeat the Lord’s Prayer in unison at religious services be led away by your correspondent’s argument and follow him to his conclusion, let such an one mentally repeat this prayer, thoughtfully pondering all it . implies, then ask himself. “Can I hold the opinion that war is. and must remain inevitable, and continue to present this petition, without standing self-convicted of hypocrisy?”—l ;11 ”' CtC " G. W.. DARY ALL. Tasman, November 3.
