View of Public Bodies Dominion Special Service Dunedin, November 4. At a recent conference of public bodies the following motion was carried“ That this meeting recognises the difficulty of the fixation of labourers’ wages at the present time, but recommends that employing public bodies should endeavour to stabilise wages at present rates; and further, that the 10 per ccpt. cut be restored as soon as practicable.” The Dunedin City Council’s works committee and the Harbour Board, two of the largest public bodies, have now approved of the resolution, which will be given effect to.
