The discovery of the gunpowder plot of 32S years ago will be celebrated tomorrow, and it is probable that sacredness of the day will considerably curtail the exuberance of juveniles. Wellington shops have been selling fair quantities of the cheaper class of fireworks, but elaborate skyrockets have not been in demand. A further damper on Guy Fawkes celebration is the tightening of the regulations regarding danger to citizens and buildings ip thr more congested areas. Twenty-five years ago “Tlie Dominion” reported: “Tinakori Hill and Mount Victoria were studded with bonfires.”
