DRAMATIC DEATH

Wife of Chief Justice of England COLLAPSE AT RECEPTION By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright (Received November 3, 7.5 p.m.). London, November 3. Lady Hewart, wife of the Chief Justice, Lord Hewart, collapsed and died while attending the Lady Mayoress’s last reception of the season at the Mansion Hoime. There were over 1000 guests—brilliantly-gowned women and men in uniform and evening dress in the lavishly-decorated Egyptian Hall. Lady Hewart at midnight was sitting with a group of friends when suddenly she fell forward. She was removed, but died in an anteroom. The Lord Mayor ordered the reception to be abandoned. The bewildered guests wore horrified. Lord Hewart was not present at the reception, and the news was telephoned to his home.
