A suggestion has been made, and I think it a very good one, that the redoes sent in for the Cookery Corner must have been tried, tasted and proved by the sender. Then we will be quite sure of always having really delicious things to make. Sometimes cookery book recipes sound much more exciting than they are.—KIWI.

DATE BREAD Soak 1 cup of dates in a cup of water which has had 1 teaspoon of soda dissolved in it. Add 1 dessertspoon of butter; beat well together. Beat 1 egg, add J cup sugar (brown if possible).
