The Prime Minister. Mr. J. ALyons, informed a deputation that the Government realised the necessity of assisting the wheat industry and the imposition of a sales tax on flo iir might be the best way of assisting wheat growers. No Government could continue granting subsidies year after year to wheat and other industries as had been done in the past.
