General Election in British

Columbia PERIOD OF STALEMATE 4 (Received November 2, 7 p.m.) Victoria (British Columbia), November 1. A general election will be held on Thursday for 41 seats out of 47, the other six being postponed because of the death of Mr. W. J. Bowser, a candidate for Victoria City, which elects four members, and Vancouver, which elects two. ■ The elections follow two years of political confusion, and unless one party; gets a majority over all the others, the complexion (of the next Government will probably be decided only after prolonged negotiation among the elected members.
