LOAN TO NEW YORK
Financial Embarrassment Overcome
BANKERS FIND MONEY By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received November 1, 7.30 p.m.) New York, October 31. The city once again has been saved from acute financial embarrassment and inability to meet the city payrolls, when backers under the financing agreement to-day put twentyfive million dollars at the comptroller’s disposal. Thirty-seven banks supplied the money at 4 per cent. This enabled the payment of teachers, hospital staffs and police, who recently more than once have been faced bv empty city coffers.
