CLOSING OF SEASON

Takapau Golf Club Dominion Special Service. Takapau.. November 1. The official closing of the Takapau Golf Club was held on Saturday in the presence of a large attendance of members and friends.. The results of play on Saturday were as follow:—Mixed four-ball: A. Fraser and Miss M. Cato. 4 up. with M. McDonnell and Mrs.. McDonnell second with 3 up. Men’s handicap stroke: S. Ropata. 74-4-69; with C. J. Smith, second, 81-10-71’. Ladies’ handicap stroke (12 holes) : Miss M. Cnto. 70-19-51: with Mrs. W. H. Davies second, 64-11-53, Prior to the presentation of trophies Mr. J. Caugbley congratulated the club on having a particularly successful year, and also congratulated the club's officials on the excellent work they had done. The ladies’ captain, Mrs. A'Denne, presented trophies as follow: — Women’s Events. Senior championship: Miss S. White; runner-up, Miss I. Smith. Junior championship: Miss I. Smith; runner-up, Mrs. Hodges. Johnston Cup: Miss K. White. Mrs. H. W. White's trophy: Mrs. Prescott : runner-up. Miss M. Cato. Mrs. A'Deane Cup: Miss P. Cato; run-ner-up, Miss I. Smith.
