Marlborough Holiday

Blenheim, November 1,

‘ Blenheim to-day bears the appearance of a deserted village, basking in hot sunshine on the occasion of the Marlborough provincial anniversary holiday. Large numbers of people are picnicking at various resorts, while the Tamahine left Picton at 7 a.m- with nearly 900 excursionists aboard on a dar trip to Wellington. A gala at Rarangi has also attracted hundreds of people.

Excursion to Wellington

Manv residents of the province spent the day in Wellington. The Tamahine, which arrived at 10.25 a.m., carried 890 passengers, who were welcomed by some hundreds of friends on the Queen’s Wharf. Sight-seeing buses met the ship, and many of the visitors seized the opportunity to have a good look over the city. The Tamahine, which was gaily decked wdth bunting, left for Picton at 5 p.m.
