LATE DR. HERBERT
Many Mourners Present at Funeral St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral was almost filled with mourners it the memorial service to the late Dr. W. E. Herbert, which was held yesterday morning. Those present included representatives of the medical, legal and dental professions, commercial interests, hospitals and social and charitable institutions of the city. The service was conducted by Canon Percival James, who also officiated at the crematorium at Karori.
The pall-bearers were Sir Donald McGavin, Dr. J. S. Elliott, Dr. Harcourt Smith, Messrs. J. Parker, R. S. Thompson, and H. Digges-Smith. The chief mourners were the widow, Mrs. Charles Levin and Miss Betty Herbert (daughters), Dr. H. A. H. Gilmer (brother-in-law), and Mrs. Knox Gilmer. •
The executive council of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association was represented by Drs. T. Duncan Stout (chairman), D. Eardley Fenwick, G. F. V. Anson and 11. E. Gibbs. . The Wellington division had as representatives Drs. L. Levy (chairman), Agnes Bennett, E. G. Anderson, P. P. Lynch, C. G. F. Morlce, W. Macdonald Wilson, John Plimmer, H. Graham Robertson, E.
