Early Tram Ticket: A Wellington tramway ticket (twice actual size) of 40 years ago. These tickets were sold in cards or blocks, and a receipt was given in exchange when one was tendered for fare by a passenger. The following appeared on the reverse side: “Issued subject to my right by advertisement in a Wellington newspaper to limit a date (not less than seven days from advertisement) within which this ticket must be either used or exchanged by the holder for a new ticket.—A. Hall.”
