WEDDING.
Arnold—James The Rev. H. Goring was the officiating minister at a wedding in the Ingestre Street Baptist Church, Wanganui, on October 23, that of Elsie Alma, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. James, Wanganui, and Albert Rex, younger son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Arnold, Gonville, Wanganui. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore Ivory satin cut on long lines, and a veil held with orange blossom. Her bouquet was of lilies and freesias. Misses Florence and Alice James, sisters of the bride, and Thelma Booth acted as bridesmaids, the first-named wearing rose-pink georgette and the other two pale blue organdie. Caps and capes to match the frocks were worn and muffs were carried. Coral Troughton, niece of the bride, was a flower-girl, wearing rose taffeta. Messrs. Henry T. Arnold, G. Gaye and R. Peattie supported the bridegroom. A guard of honour was formed by members of St. John Ambulance and the Rovers. Mr. and Mrs. James received over 100 guests at a reception after the ceremony. Mrs. Arnold wore navy satin with hat and shoes to match and carried rosebuds and freesias. When Mr. and Mrs. Arnold left the latter wore tomato-red check tweed with accessories to match.
