A most unusual specimen of galllardia has been grown by Mrs. H. Wallath, of Westown, New Plymouth. The main stem has seeded and the empty seed pod has bent over to come in contact with the soil. As a result the old seed pod has given growth to a series of off-shoots to the number of 12, each shoot being flower-bearing.
