HIGH TAXATION
Creator of Unemployment AUSTRALIA’S REDUCTIONS .“The Australian Commonwealth Government lias come to the conclusion that high taxation creates unemployment.” said Air. John Fuller, of Sydney, who is on a visit to Wellington. “In a manner almost unprecedented, it has brought about a reduction of taxation to the extent of over £7,000,000 per annum. Various State Governments have arrived at the same conclusion, and most of them have already decided to reduce the wages tax in 1934. “The result of this,” Air. Fuller added, “has been a tremendous heartening up of the people. It has created a wave of optimism which is being felt throughout the length and breadth of Australia."
