WEDDINGS
Hendry—Hawes A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Norman, of Lower Hutt, yesterday, when Irene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hawes, ■of New Plymouth, and sister of Mrs. Norman, was married to William Innes, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hendry, of Lower Hutt. The bride, who was escorted by Mr. J. Barnard, was in a gown of sky blue floral georgette, made with epaulette frilled sleeves, and fitting corsage, the seams of the skirt being defined with frills. The dress was finished with a wide bow at the back. A picture hat of wedgwopd blue straw was finished with a bow to tone with the frock. She wore blue gloves and grey lizard-skin shoes, and a shoulder spray of lily of the valley, with touches of blue. Mrs. Norman, who was matron of honour, was In a dress of white floral georgette, made with short pleated sleeves and fitting bodice, the skirt finished with a pleated flounce, and a wide bow at the back. A picture hat of white straw was finished with a cherry bow, and a shoulder spray of cherry flowers was worn. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Keith Hendry, as best man. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Norman entertained relatives and a few intimate friends at afternoon tea. Suspended from the centre of the diningroom ceiling was a floral bell, made by Mrs. E. G. Foster, and tulips and stocks in blue and purple shades were effectively used for decoration. The drawingroom, where the ceremony took place, was gay with pink tulips and The bride travelled in a grey tailored suit, and grey and blue beret.
