Wellington beats Miramar SQUADRON UUP WON The final inter-club golf match of the season for the Squadron Cup was played on Saturday afternoon, when Wellington defeated Miramar by sixteen games to ei'ffit In the match between the A teams on the Miramar links, Wellington earned all before them, and won by ten games to two. Wellington scored their third victory in the Squadron Cup contest, and take the cup for ll)3o by the convincing, margin of thirteen points to three. In the Crawford Crescent competition, Wellington won by seven games to one, whicn should almost win them this trophy also. The match between the B teams at Heretaunga saw both teams win six games. The weather was fine, but a fairly Stitt north-west wind took charge of . balls which were not hit truly. The following are the results, the Wellington players being mentioned first: — A Teams. A. D. Manning lost to C. W. Palmer, 1 down. A. Duncan Beats Drake. Tuned up by play in the national tournament at Titirangi, A. D. S. Duncan (Wellington) proved too good for J. H. Drake in No. 1 position. Starting off with a 3 at the first hole (435 yards), the Wellington man went out in 37 to Drake's 38, and turned for home 1 up. They halved the ninth in s’s, but Duncan drew 2 up with a neat bogey 4 at the eleventh (HO yards). Drake won both the short holes, but Duncan had the advantage at the long game, and eventually took the match by 2 and 1. The Wellington man came home in 40. which gave him 77 for the round, while Drake’® figures for the run in were 41, which gave him 79 for the full journey. D. 0. Whyte (Wellington) went out in 37 to stand 1 up on H. E. H. Aplin. Thev were playing well, as they halved the eighth in 3’s, and Aplin rang on another 3 at the ninth (433 yards), and then drew all square with a 4 at the tenth (365 yards). A fiard battle on the run iu saw Whyte stand dprmy one, and it was all over wlieh Aplin lost his ball after hooking a long braSsie second into the ditch. Other Battles. J. B. Parker (Wellington) recorded a 77 in defeating D. S. Halley by 2 and .1. The Wellington man was 4 up at the turn, and 5 up with 6 to play. Halley then made a spirited tight to reduce his leeway. . E. Pago (Welliugtou) maintained the consistent form he has been showing this season in accounting tor J. Crawford by 4 aud 3. The Wellington man went out. in 37 to turn for home 4 up, and maintained this advantage, taking even 4s to the end of the game. E. D. Blundell, who is better known as a cricketer, continued his winning streak by defeating D. R. Richmond by 4 and 2. The Cambridge Blue drives a long ball, and handles his mashie and putter well. C. L. Dentice (Miramar) was 1 up on E. O. Hales at the turn, but the Wellington man then had a word to say, anil, by winning the tenth, eleventh, thirteenth, and fourteenth’, took the game by 2 and 1. J. W. Sandham and the Rev. G. V. Rooko were the solitary Miramar players to record wins in the match.

WIN FOR HUTT CLUB Defeat of Masterton A match between the Hutt and Masterton clubs on the Hutt links yesterday resulted in a victory for Hutt by 23 games to 14, with eleven games squared. Hutt won the fourballs in the morning by six games to four, with six games squared and the singles iu the afternoon by seventeen games to ten, with five games halved. Kember retained his title as champion of the Paekakariki club yesterday by defeating his brother, J. Kember, in the final over 36 holes by 4 up and 3 to play. The champion did the morning round in 76 to his brother's 80, and was 4 up. He maintained this lead in the afternoon. The Paekakariki champion is m rare form just now, as he proved on Saturday, when he recorded a 70 in a round with E. Andrews. He went out in 38, and did the second half in 32. Shandon Club A fourball bogey competition on the Shandon links on Saturday was won by C. E. Hollis (6) and A. T. Hawken (14), who finished 3 up. A medal competition during the weekend was won by 0. L. Bishop, whose card read 83-8-75. In the final of the S. P. Andrew trophy, on handicap, S. Rodger beat E. Dawson, 6 and 5. The draw for the Saturday morning cup is as follows: —W. R.
