HOUSE TO-DAY
World Conference Work
DISCUSSION OF REPORT
Government Bills Tomorrow
On resuming this afternoon members of the House of Representatives will be given an opportunity to discuss the report on the World Economic and Monetary Conference presented to Parliament on Friday last by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes. It had been intended to give consideration to this document on Tuesday, the sudden death of the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. H. E. Holland, during the week-end being responsible for a change in the plans.
On Friday the House will proceed to Government Bills already on the Order Paper. There are six of these, all of which have been accorded second readings, leaving the committee and final stages to be completed. The Government had hoped to be able to introduce the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Bill before the week-end adjournment was taken to-morrow, but this will not now be possible. Another caucus of Coalition supporters will be held this morning, and at this meeting further discussion will take place on the proposals contained th the redrafted Bill. An explanation of the' BUI was given at a caucus held last week, but in the limited time available it was found impossible to fully discuss so important and far-reaching a measure.
