LATE MR. MEATYARD

Palmerston North, October 10. A tribute to the memory of the late Mr. A. E. Meatyard, one of the oldest members of the legal profession in Palmerston North, was paid by both the Bench and Bar when the Magistrate’s Court was opened this morning. Out of respect for the late Mr. Meatyard the court was adjourned for five minutes.

Tributes to Mr. Meatyard’s services in the profession and to his integrity and ability were paid by Mr. J. Grant, president of the Palmerston North branch of the Law Society, and Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M.

Tlie late Mr. Meatyard was in nis eightieth year when he passed away and followed his practice to within two weeks of his demise.
