In an attempt to take off from Wassaga Beach on Tuesday morning the undercarriage of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Mollison’s aeroplane Seafarer II -was twisted, in a sudden descent to the ground. The machine was caught in a criss-cross wind which plunged it downward when it was some five feet in the air. The mishap occurred after the aeroplane had covered approximately two miles in a second attempt to take off. Mr. and Mrs. Mollison left the machine, which was carrying GOO gallons of petrol. Both were disappointed. The damage is estimated at only a few dollars. A faint chance remained to-night that the Mollisons would try to hop off on Thursday. It is doubtful whether the weather conditions over the w’hole 6000 miles will remain as satisfactory as on Tuesday, but meteorologists state there is no indication of any drastic change.
