Malicious Fife Alarms 71 IN FIVE MONTHS During the month of August the Wellington Fire Brigade received 64 fire alarms. 'Of these 28 were for actual fires —10 property, 13 chimneys, and 5 gorse, grass, and rubbish; and 36 were false alarms —10 justifiable and 26 malicious. During the five months ended August 31, the number of calls received was 220, as compared with 282 for the corresponding period of last year. Of the 220 calls, 124 were for actual fires and 96 were false alarms. Of the false alarms only 25 were justifiable, whilst 71 were malicious, as compared with 56 justifiable and only 40 malicious, in the corresponding period of 1932.
