SAILORS’ SOCIETY

An enjoyable evening was given at the rooms of the British Sailors’ Society by Aliss Hazel Alartin’s pupils. There was a large audience of men from the ships in port, who thoroughly enjoyed every item. Hornpipes, ballets, skipping dances and items by the babies were presented and received a great ovation from the men. At the conclusion of the concert a vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary and carried with acclamation, after which supper was served by the workers. The evening was brought to a clase with the singing of the National Anthem. Items were contributed by Misses Alma Longhurst, Betty Paynter. Joyce Workman, Joy Penny, Sadie Havice, Betty Rowe. Judy Cooper. Margaret Dollimore, Pat. Hastings, Karen Austin. Honey Gage, Pat. Aleehen. Thelma Nickless, Pat! Riordan. Maureen Jeffries. Esrne Carlyle. Gloria Andrews, and Rung! Jessup. Alitsters Keith Woollett, Eric Evans. Ken Rathbone, and Alark Fisher.
